Chili Cook Off - January 29, 2026 from 5-6:30 PM
Show off your chili-making skills at the YLS Chili Cook-Off! Participants are welcome to bring a crockpot of their best recipe to our event, where attendees (participants included!) will taste and rank their favorite versions of the all-time classics. 40 Under 40: Paths to Legal Success - February 5, 2026 from 5:30-7:30 PM
Each year, Chicago Daily Law Bulletin Media honors attorneys from a survey of Illinois practitioners who are up and comers in the legal profession. Honorees are selected based on a number of criteria, but specifically their unique and exceptional results and lawyering skills. Join us for a panel discussion with a select group of CBA-member honorees to learn more about their career paths, tips for those looking to stand out in their field, and what advice or influences helped them to get where they are today. The panel will be hosted at the CBA and virtually, with a reception to follow.

YLS Transactional Negotiation Competition - February 26-28, 2026, times vary
The 4th installment of the Young Lawyers Section's Transactional Negotiation Competition will be returning from February 26-28, 2026. Attorneys who volunteer to judge will be eligible to receive IL-MCLE credit, subject to MCLE competition judging limitations. Must be Illinois-licensed attorney to receive credit.
